Project Information
Wates approached MACH to consult on the construction of four residential blocks totalling 362 apartments as part of the ongoing Wembley Park regeneration, a stone’s throw away from Wembley Stadium.
Project Details
Location: | Wembley, London |
Client: | Quintain |
Architect: | Flanagan Lawrence |
Contractor: | Wates Construction |
Contract Value: | £100M |
Completion Date: | April 2017 |
Currently under design, MACH have been asked to consult from tender through to completion, including full pre-completion testing of all blocks. On the back of other successful schemes with Wates such as the Greenwich M0114/M0115 plots, a key issue to this project is in achieving a cost effective design.
Reviewing work from the previous acoustician on the design stage, MACH have focused on extensive reviews/modelling of constructions and detailed flanking assessments for internal sound insulation, as well as a full specification of all façade elements to limit noise ingress. Later in the project MACH will carry out site inspections and early testing of the building to ensure full compliance with ADE.
Our Services
- In depth review and modelling of constructions to meet ADE sound insulation requirements.
- Full consultancy on noise from M&E services, i.e. noise pollution to nearby residents, noise breakthrough into the developments and specification of in-duct attenuators.
- Site inspections, early testing and full pre completion testing.
A second significant scope of work has been to fully review all M&E design, both internal and external. Typically, the job of the M&E engineer, MACH have instead been asked to review, calculate and report on all aspects, including noise pollution from the attached ‘energy centre’ that services the development, including vibration. We minimise risk by conducting detailed calculations through a combination of complex spreadsheets and 3D noise mapping.
Although yet to be completed at this stage, MACH are always confident that our in depth approach and time intensive work will result in a building fully compliant with ADE and planning conditions
