London and West London Academies, two large £30m+ academy schools, were designed around natural ventilation incorporating cross ventilation.

Situated on noisy roads, both schools were required to meet BB93 and BB101 ‘Ventilation of School Buildings’ acoustic performance standards.

MACH Acoustics worked with Fosters and Partners to develop a practical solution.

The Honeycomb Attenuator was used throughout the design as it was shown to outperform conventional attenuators in size and performance, while at a lower cost.
